Foundling Jewelry Catalog Photo Shoot

I LOVE Foundling jewelry! I also have the privilege of working for Foundling and helping create these adorable pieces. They're all made of sterling silver with re-purposed bits of vintage paper, maps, fabrics and dictionaries. I've worked for Betsy Carr, creator and talent, for WOW...3 years now. And her husband has recently joined the team and it's just so much fun. I truly love being a part of the studio and Foundling Team. And I was honored that she asked me to photograph for her FIRST catalog. Foundling has grown so much and I'm so happy for her.

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog.

My first photography class was in 1997. I was just a junior in high school then, but that class made an impact (I actually miss the smell of darkroom chemicals on my hands). My first internship was with a commercial photographer in Raleigh, the summer before my senior year. My hard work paid off and I received a photography scholarship to Meredith College. My first job, with a Charlotte based photographer, was an experience I will never forget. But it was ultimately my move to Asheville in 2005 that set the tone for my career.

I was so lucky to find a photographer to take me under her wing and nurture me in my craft. I became her assistant and then associate photographer. Then she let my fly. I will always be so grateful to Kelly Giezentanner.

So here I am, a little over 15 years later. My experiences have taught me invaluable lessons. Photography is an ever-evolving art form. I will continue to grow as an artist and apply all that I've learned. This has been a beautiful journey, I hope that you will join me some time.
