Lynn & Weston are expecting!

NYE photo booth!

We threw our 2nd annual NYE party, and we of course have a photo booth. What kind of photographer would I be if I didn't!? Although I just now got around to looking through all of them. Some are SO ridiculous and funny! I love that the dogs were part of the fun too.

a very special Mother/Daughter session

Kalon came to me and wanted a different kind of portrait session for herself and daughter Annie. One a little more quirky and dramatic. They were drinking a little wine and enjoying each others company. And this is what happened...

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog.

My first photography class was in 1997. I was just a junior in high school then, but that class made an impact (I actually miss the smell of darkroom chemicals on my hands). My first internship was with a commercial photographer in Raleigh, the summer before my senior year. My hard work paid off and I received a photography scholarship to Meredith College. My first job, with a Charlotte based photographer, was an experience I will never forget. But it was ultimately my move to Asheville in 2005 that set the tone for my career.

I was so lucky to find a photographer to take me under her wing and nurture me in my craft. I became her assistant and then associate photographer. Then she let my fly. I will always be so grateful to Kelly Giezentanner.

So here I am, a little over 15 years later. My experiences have taught me invaluable lessons. Photography is an ever-evolving art form. I will continue to grow as an artist and apply all that I've learned. This has been a beautiful journey, I hope that you will join me some time.

Here are some professional photos as well as personal. I do my best to post all weddings, photo shoots and important CA Photography info. And of course some photos of my adorable husband and dogs.
